DPW Observes Holiday Schedule May 31 – June 5 for Trash and Recycling
(Washington, DC) In observance of Memorial Day, DPW services will be suspended on Monday, May 31. There will be no DPW trash or recycling collection; sanitation enforcement; street sweeping; nuisance abatement; parking enforcement, including meters, residential and rush hour lane restrictions, and no towing or abandoned vehicle removal. The Fort Totten Trash Transfer Station, normally open to the public on Monday, will be closed. All services resume on Tuesday, June 1.
Once-weekly Supercan trash collection and recycling collection will "slide" one day for the remainder of the week, beginning Tuesday, June 1. Neighborhoods that normally receive twice-weekly trash service will see their first collection slide one day, with normal collections for the remainder of the week. DPW's schedule for the remainder of the week will be as follows:
Tuesday, June 1
Supercan neighborhoods: Monday's scheduled trash and recycling will be collected
Twice-weekly neighborhoods: Monday's scheduled trash collected
Wednesday, June 2
Supercan neighborhoods: Tuesday's scheduled trash and recycling will be collected
Twice-weekly neighborhoods: Tuesday's scheduled trash collected
Thursday, June 3
Supercan neighborhoods: Wednesday's trash and recycling will be collected
Twice-weekly neighborhoods: Regular Thursday trash and recycling collection
Friday, June 4
Supercan neighborhoods: Thursday's scheduled trash and recycling will be collected
Twice-weekly neighborhoods: Regular trash and recycling collection
Saturday, June 5
Supercan neighborhoods: Friday's trash and recycling will be collected
