NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 31, 2001 Holiday Tree Collection One Week Only, January 7 - January 11, 2002 The Department of Public Works will pick up holiday trees during a special one-week collection, January 7 - January 11, 2002. Residents who normally receive DC trash service are encouraged to put holiday trees - without ornaments or tinsel - in curbside tree boxes by Sunday, January 6, 2002. Residents who wish to keep their trees longer should put them out at their normal point of trash collection (curbside or alley) after Jan. 11. Trash trucks will then collect the trees with the regular residential trash, as space in trucks permits over the following weeks.
